Reely Old Movies’s review published on Letterboxd: Ok not great version of the story. I thought the lack of showing Scrooge’s past and the focus on the Crachit family hurts the plot for me. A important part of scrooges repentance cycle is feeling prideful about his past, and the spirit of Christmas past showing him how he wasn’t, so that when he gets to the present he realizes how his actions affect people. That is almost completely missing here. He changes but we never truest see that change it just happens.
